The Federal Government has launched a new energy resources growth centre aimed at improving collaboration and productivity in Australia’s oil and gas industry. National Energy Resources Australia (NERA) is an industry-led, government-funded initiative located in Perth, with nodes in Brisbane and Adelaide to open in late 2016. Experienced oil and gas industry executive Ken Fitzpatrick has been appointed as the Chair of the Government’s new Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Growth Centre. Minister for Industry and Science, Ian Macfarlane, welcomed Mr Fitzpatrick’s appointment to the role. Acting Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Senator Michaelia Cash, said the projects funded through National Energy Resources Australia’s (NERA) Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Growth Centre, will leverage a further $5.7 million from industry partners.
